  1. Cook the ground beef and sausage in a large skillet on medium heat until brown.
  2. Drain the fat, but keep half of it.
  3. Place the cooked ground beef and sausage into the crockpot.
  4. Add half of the fat drippings that you saved earlier and the rest of the ingredients into the crockpot and stir well.
  5. Close the crockpot and set it on low, then cook for 6-8 hours.
  6. Serve with sour cream, cheese, and green onions, if desired.
